Oh, the Irony!

How hard is it to make fun of “Internet Journalists” when they make it such easy targets?

This time though, we have a real “Pot calls kettle black” situation. Read this amusing snippet from one of the more verbose writers:

“Torrie Wilson posted the following on her Twitter this evening… Loving my life outside of wrestling guys!!! ..that last response was related to Hogan tellin Stern im calling tna for work..im not! Note from Ryan Clark: That’s classic Hogan for you. Don’t ever trust one word that man says.”

Wow. Someone who day in and day out spreads false information, twisted stories and frank, outright lies can say this? Even worse, I can guarantee he wrote this with a straight face, believing every single letter as he typed it. Not hard after all – Hogan does tend to make statements that while not lies, are twisted to suit his (Or those of his company) needs.

Thing is – that’s hype. he’s doing HIS job, trying to promote not only TNA but himself in the process. That’s one of the main reasons Dixie hired the man, he can sell to the marks. So while he stretches truth, makes stuff up – and yes, lies – he is doing it from a foundation of trying to help the business. Unlike our “Journalist” friends.

See, the above snippet illustrates the actual feelings of these supposed Wrestling fans who are posting ‘News”. You’d think they’d try to actually find out if something is true because they want to help – instead like the Enquirer, they post first and pray that nobody sues them. Even worse, even when they are proven flat wrong, they continue to spread the misinformation for at least several more days, NEVER issuing a retraction or – as they should – an apology.

Take as case in point the JR – TNA situation. For several weeks now, it has been “reported” that JR met with TNA execs in regards to a position with the company. Problem is, JR has stated repeatedly in places like his Blog & at the CAC Reunion, that he has NOT spoken with TNA in general, and with certain people in specific. Anyone who knows JR will tell you this – if he is being evasive, he will tell you he can’t comment – he would NOT lie about his situation.

Even funnier, the ‘reporter’ actually cut and paste from JR’s blog several times where he says the above – that he had no contact with TNA – yet STILL insisted on reporting afterward that JR was doing so. It’s irresponsible, misleading – and even actionable – if JR were the type to want to sue.

Perhaps that’s the reason why all those posts have mysteriously vanished in the last day or so. I got fed up and mailed the ‘reporter’, pointing out his factual errors – I called him on his BS. Hopefully (But I doubt it) this will open his eyes to the nature of what he does – if even ONE of these ‘Journalists’ gets a clue, a movement of truth and accuracy can get started.
